((I’m also sorry that I haven’t been posting as much as I have lately. I’m finally getting ready to go to college next month. Yay! It’s kept me away with a lot of preparing, and orientation is coming up. But I am trying to keep up with the new asks, so don’t worry! I’ll still be checking up!))

So what? You failed your finals. You gained some weight. So what? You’re single again. You lost your job. So what? What now? You live. You try again. That’s what.

This wooden spiral staircase was added to the 1828 Administration Building at Western State Hospital in 1840, the same year notable superintendent Francis T. Stribling was appointed to run the Staunton, VA asylum.  Now, over 170 years later, it’s holding up wonderfully; it can easily hold several people without shifting, and leads out onto a wonderful porch surrounding the cupola.  They sure don’t build ‘em like they used to!

I found this copy of Thoreau’s Walden buried in the park.  I opened it and saw these roots growing between the pages. I don’t know whether to frame it or put it back in the ground.

That’s beautiful
